Anxiety support for adults
Practical, evidence-based hypnotherapy to help you move out of anxiety and avoidance — and back into everyday life.
Anxiety affects how you think, feel, and behave — often leading to avoidance, overthinking, exhaustion, or a sense of being stuck. For many adults, anxiety isn’t constant panic, but a persistent background pressure that slowly shrinks life.
At The Nest Hypnotherapy, I work with adults who want to understand their anxiety patterns and develop practical ways to feel calmer, more confident, and more in control.
Sessions are available in person in Oxfordshire or online.
How anxiety often shows up in adults
You might recognise some of these experiences:
+Avoiding situations that feel uncomfortable or uncertain
+Overthinking conversations, decisions, or future scenarios
+Feeling tense, on edge, or mentally exhausted
+Struggling with confidence or self-doubt
+Difficulty switching off, especially at night
+Feeling “fine on the outside” but overwhelmed inside
You don’t need to experience all of these for anxiety to be having an impact.
How I help
My work is grounded in cognitive behavioural hypnotherapy, which focuses on the connection between thoughts, emotions, physical responses, and behaviour.
Together, we work on:
+understanding how your anxiety patterns developed
+identifying unhelpful thinking styles
+gently reducing avoidance
+building confidence and emotional resilience
+using hypnosis to reinforce change and calm the nervous system
The aim is not to “get rid” of anxiety completely, but to help it stop running your life.
What sessions are like
Sessions are calm, structured, and collaborative.
We move at a pace that feels manageable, and you’ll be actively involved in understanding what’s happening and why. Hypnosis is used as a supportive tool — not something that happens to you — and many clients describe sessions as grounding and clarifying.
You’ll also learn practical tools you can use between sessions, so progress continues outside the therapy room.
Is this right for you?
This approach will be helpful if you:
+want practical strategies, not just talking
+feel stuck in cycles of anxiety or avoidance
+are motivated to understand and change patterns
+want support that feels calm, structured, and evidence-based
If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay — an initial conversation can help you decide.
