Calm, Confident & Exam Ready – Free Self-Hypnosis Exercise for Exam Stress

£0.00

This free self-hypnosis exercise was created in conjunction with the Seed Wellness webinar Calm, Confident & Exam Ready, designed to support teenagers and families during exam season.

This is a simple focused-attention and mental rehearsal exercise that helps young people prepare their brain and nervous system for exams in a calmer, steadier way.

Using guided imagery and self-hypnosis techniques, the exercise helps teens mentally rehearse:

  • arriving at the exam room calmly

  • settling themselves before the exam begins

  • staying focused under pressure

  • bringing themselves back when thoughts begin to speed up

  • and approaching exams one question at a time

The aim is not to remove nerves completely, but to help the brain recognise exams as something familiar, manageable, and safe enough to cope with.

This exercise can be practised regularly in the days and weeks leading up to exams and many young people also find they can use parts of the technique mentally in the exam room itself.

You may also find the free revision guide available here in the resource shop helpful alongside this exercise.

And for those wanting more in-depth support, the Calm, Focused & Ready – Exam Toolkit is also available, including:

  • 3 guided hypnosis audios

  • practical revision support

  • self-hypnosis tools for before and during exams

  • and strategies for managing overthinking and exam anxiety.
